NDIS participants can use their funding in a variety of ways to achieve their plan goals. When choosing to see a dietitian, participants can claim the cost of services from the following categories:

  • Core Supports – Daily Activities

  • Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing.

The Dietitian may provide one off-assessments, annual reviews, or ongoing support based on each participant’s needs and goals. Consultations can help with meal planning, improve your overall wellbeing and also increase your capacity for learning, independence, and social inclusion.

To access NDIS-funded services from a dietitian, the support needs to relate to your goals, usually regarding functional participation or capacity. This may also include building or maintaining your function in several areas – including learning, self-care, social interaction, and self-management.
